Join WELA for an in-person happy hour with State Representative Liz Berry, Chair of the House Labor & Workplace Standards Committee.

Representative Berry will speak with WELA members about recent labor and employment legislation, including bills the Legislature has passed and proposals the workers’ rights community has helped defend against in recent years. She also wants to hear from WELA members directly and brainstorm legislative ideas for the 2027 session.

Representative Berry represents Washington’s 36th Legislative District, which includes Queen Anne, Magnolia, Interbay, Ballard, Phinney Ridge, Crown Hill, and Greenwood. As Chair of the House Labor & Workplace Standards Committee, she has led and supported major workplace legislation involving Paid Family & Medical Leave, unemployment insurance, noncompete agreements, temporary workers, rideshare drivers, and protections against secrecy provisions in employment-related settlement and nondisclosure agreements. Before joining the Legislature, Representative Berry served as CEO of the Washington State Association for Justice, the region’s largest civil justice advocacy organization dedicated to protecting the rights of patients, consumers, and injured workers.
