A hospital worker from Washington has been awarded $110,000 in a lawsuit alleging that he was fired from his job for reporting excessive force against patients. The plaintiff, a former employee of a psychiatric hospital, alleges that he was terminated after he reported what he believed to be excessive force aimed at patients. The lawsuit alleges that the plaintiff was the target of retaliation after reporting incidents of patient abuse, neglect and cruelty to his supervisor. The lawsuit was filed against the state of Washington, Western State Hospital and the Department of Social and Health Services last year.
