An employee who voluntarily quits employment is not entitled to unemployment unless he or she can show ?good cause.? ?RCW 50.20.050(b) lists 10 reasons that constitute ?good cause? for leaving employment. ?The employee in this case argued that the list is not exclusive and leaving employment to care for his grandchildren in Alaska qualified as ?good cause.??? Division II disagreed. ?Starr v. ESD, No. 33003-2-II (Hunt, Van Deren, Houghton; 11/22/05).
?Good Cause? for Quitting Employees Is Limited to Reasons Explicitly Set Forth in RCW 50.
