WELA filed an amicus brief with the Washington Supreme Court today in Cooper v. Alsco, a class action on behalf of Route Sales Representatives for unpaid overtime.  WELA urges the Court to affirm the trial court’s rulings finding the class members are not exempt from overtime under the “retail and service establishment” exemption and that in order to calculate unpaid overtime premiums, the court should divide the total pay by the presumptive 40-hour workweek.  Members Elizabeth Adams and Toby Marshall wrote the brief.  Members Adam Berger and Marty Garfinkel represent the plaintiffs.
